Paonia Eagles Football Team Advances in State Playoffs
It was a heck of a game for Paonia. The team looked great and played hard, and for these young men, the season isn't over yet. The Paonia Eagles shut out Wiggins, Colorado with a final score of 49 - 0.
For the second half of the game, a running clock was used because of the score disparity. This is where the clock keeps running and doesn't stop until the game is over.
This was the first round of playoff football action for the Paonia Eagle. The Paonia stands were packed with fans, and the team played a great game for all of us. Paonia is a division 1A school. Last year the Paonia Eagles were the 1A State Champions.
It hasn't been announced who Paonia will play next week and whether or not that will be a home game. I'll bring you that information when it becomes available.
