Most anybar will have a TV of sorts anymore. That does not automatically classify it as a sports bar. Having a big screen with the game on and no sound does not really make for enjoyable game watching. Sitting in a corner with you neck crooked up to see a Screen almost ceiling high is not going to work.
Lou's Bar & Resturant is a great choice. With 21 Big Screen TV's and cable feed there is little chance you will miss any game you might want to watch.
Log built with very high vaulted and beamed ceiling with wood accents thru out. Stained concrete floor with moose and bear tracks embedded as you enter. This has the North Idaho feel that you expect, and want, of a restuarant in the northern region of the Panhandle.
Lou's in Sandpoint is the 2nd "Lou's" Resturant in the area. Hope, Idaho is the location of the Original. Sitting on the water at a marina it offers meals and drinks inside a windowed building or on the outside deck over the water. With the marina being closed and outside seating not a plus this time of year Lou's in Hope shuts down until spring.
Slate's resturant was purchased 3 years ago by Lou's and there has been no looking back. They made some changes that made it more friendly towards families with kids, or a couple wanting to go in for a quick bite. Pool tables and dart games were removed. Rather interesting is a private sound system they have for listening to a game. There is a small speaker box with channels for the patrons. Find the game you want to watch and the sound is right in front of you instead of trying to hear the TV itself. This resturant gets a big thumbs up from me for customer service all the way around.
The menu consists from light snacks to steak dinners. And of course as one would hope there is a NFL game special menu. Any time a NFL game is playing the menu is available. I have heard...OK my favorite is the 3 soft shelled tacos (stuffed) for only $7. This is also a full bar serving drinks as well as beer and wine.
Located only 1 block north of the Highway 95 and Schweitzer Cutoff it is convienent to all. Nearbye to 4 different hotels and with the new bike path completed from Sandpoint's City Beach to the Schweitzer Cutoff, walking or riding your bike from downtown is not impossible. It is a pretty good jaunt though.
