Serendipity Sunday | A Time of Reflection

It's Sunday and a time for reflection.  I've been reading and commenting on posts here in the rain as I enjoy my morning coffee. After reading Karen Fiddler, Broker/Realtor post (I hope this is an appropriate use of tagging, Karen.  If not, I apologize up front) I determined that I "needed" another cup of coffee.  The tears were rolling down my face. It sure caused me to "feel" for Karen and reflect upon "life" in general.

I studied Celeste "SALLY" Cheeseman's November Gratitude Challenge and began to ponder my gratitude and the tears started to flow again. It also caused me to reflect more upon "life" in general.

All of this got me to thinking about how vastly different we all are. This is true about life in general and definitely true about the members of the AR community.  Who knew that Sally has been "grandma" to Bob Stewart's son?  I did not know that before I read Sally's story.  You guessed it - more tears.

I've had some folks tell me I am too emotional.  Some have suggested I am "menopausal." I have to say that is pretty freaking funny given my age and gender.  That is just a fact of life. There is that word again ... "life."  It seems to be occupying my mind and reflections on this blessed and beautiful day.

The well-intending comments from people sometimes make me laugh, cry, and at times downright piss me off. Whatever - I am human! I am entitled to my "feelings."  If I do not like a comment I simply delete it. Done. That is what the delete button is for - isn't it? Delete works for me.  To each their own. If it fits - wear it. If not, get rid of it.

I choose to feel. And, feel I shall even if it makes others uncomfortable. I was watching The Voice recently and one of the coaches said to the performer "Don't over think - over feel."  That really struck a cord with me (no pun intended) and I got up and wrote it down.

When we "feel" others feel it too. I believe that is when a real connection is made.

There are some folks who are just all business and we never get to know who they really are. That's okay. How boring would life be if everyone were like us?  Snooze Alert!

The people I connect with in life, and most certainly here in the Rain, are the people who are willing to share how they "feel" and be vulnerable. Those are the folks I connect with. Those are the folks I laugh with ... and cry with. Those are the folks that are top of mind when it comes to referring business.

ActiveRain is a real estate community where professionals blog for business. But wait ...it's more than that. Bloggers are people. As people, we have lives that extend beyond real estate. We have our own dreams. We have our own challenges. Some of us are even willing to be vulnerable and expose the other side of our real estate business persona - the person behind the marketing and negotiations.

Some aren't willing. That's okay too.

That's enough of my heart-felt musings for today. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post announcing another November challenge.  All I can say about THAT is that I promise it will be light-hearted fun.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Tammy, You get it. When we feel others feel it.  Those who are not open won't feel or connect. Those are the all business folks ... and that's okay. Our differences are what makes the world turn. Likes attract likes.  So nice that your daughter cries with you.

Carla, In a dog eat god environment it is so refreshing to meet someone who won't sell their mother for a dime.  I'm learning to allow my feelings and be comfortable voicing them. Never with the intent to hurt anyone ... just speaking my truth ... my reality. I do not require anyone to join me there   I get that we are all different ... yet embrace those who share my vibration, so to speak.

Sharon, my contest is easy and fun ... I promise!

Tammie, I am happy to know you and Tom.  We've had many conversations which takes our connection to another level.  One truly does have to experience the magic of the connections we make here in the Rain.

Kathleen, OK, I grabbed a hankie and am about to read Karen's post.  Then I'm heading for Sally's.  And never apologize for needing a hanky!

Will, I hope our paths cross as well.

George, you are so funny.  If only you could have heard me bust out laughing.  You are always there with a feel good comment. Thank you.

Patricia, It was a tear jerking morning for me ... that is for sure. Then I got into gear and have been working all day. I'm just checking back into the Rain before I call it a day.

I am so happy you choose to be open and feel.  It is what makes you stand out and made me pick up the phone earlier this year and call you.

Chris Ann, I was in a space this morning where the flood gates were wide open. It feels good to feel ... and feel for others.  Tears mean many things to me.

I remember I was in a real weird space the day you called to. You did not get me on one of my more mellow days (LOL)!

Hi Kathleen: Nobody can't contain you because you are overflowing with sentiments and emotions. Some humans are scared to show their feelings because they are scared to be called softie, sentimental, maudlin, etc.

Emotional people are compassionate and understanding because they tend to feel other people's emotions vicariously. Be it blissful or the opposite.

As we reach a certain stage in life, our way of thinking changes too. Part of it is to be blamed on the under-exercised prefrontal cortex:).

I used to over think but life becomes filled with angst and anxiety when grey matter matters  most.

Que sera sera. Whatever will be will be. I will say it again. I don't want to spend most of my time earning a living. I want to learn how to earn my life.

I will not make a comment that will make you cry.

One of the top bloggers has described ActiveRain as her anchor and that is an apt description for many.

Make this a wonderful week by spreading your kindness.

Joe, I'm feeling a major shift right now. I am excited about what is opening up in my world.

Maria, there are many that would like to contain me (LOL)! Those days are long gone. I'm rally tapping in to why I am here.

Roy, An anchor is a good description for the people connections made here.

Judith, Connecting is important to me. I am at the stage in my life that without a connection there no reason, no purpose.  We get to choose who we live - right?

One of my clients told me she so enjoyed reading some of my more personal and passionate posts.  It seems all real estate makes for a rather dull read from her point of view.  I like the mix AR allows if we choose to use it.
