Serendipity Sunday | A Time of Reflection

It's Sunday and a time for reflection. I've been reading and commenting on posts here in the rain as I enjoy my morning coffee. After reading Karen Fiddler, Broker/Realtor post (I hope this is an appropriate use of tagging, Karen. If not, I apologize up front) I determined that I "needed" another cup of coffee. The tears were rolling down my face. It sure caused me to "feel" for Karen and reflect upon "life" in general.
I studied Celeste "SALLY" Cheeseman's November Gratitude Challenge and began to ponder my gratitude and the tears started to flow again. It also caused me to reflect more upon "life" in general.
All of this got me to thinking about how vastly different we all are. This is true about life in general and definitely true about the members of the AR community. Who knew that Sally has been "grandma" to Bob Stewart's son? I did not know that before I read Sally's story. You guessed it - more tears.
I've had some folks tell me I am too emotional. Some have suggested I am "menopausal." I have to say that is pretty freaking funny given my age and gender. That is just a fact of life. There is that word again ... "life." It seems to be occupying my mind and reflections on this blessed and beautiful day.
The well-intending comments from people sometimes make me laugh, cry, and at times downright piss me off. Whatever - I am human! I am entitled to my "feelings." If I do not like a comment I simply delete it. Done. That is what the delete button is for - isn't it? Delete works for me. To each their own. If it fits - wear it. If not, get rid of it.
I choose to feel. And, feel I shall even if it makes others uncomfortable. I was watching The Voice recently and one of the coaches said to the performer "Don't over think - over feel." That really struck a cord with me (no pun intended) and I got up and wrote it down.
When we "feel" others feel it too. I believe that is when a real connection is made.
There are some folks who are just all business and we never get to know who they really are. That's okay. How boring would life be if everyone were like us? Snooze Alert!
The people I connect with in life, and most certainly here in the Rain, are the people who are willing to share how they "feel" and be vulnerable. Those are the folks I connect with. Those are the folks I laugh with ... and cry with. Those are the folks that are top of mind when it comes to referring business.
ActiveRain is a real estate community where professionals blog for business. But wait ...it's more than that. Bloggers are people. As people, we have lives that extend beyond real estate. We have our own dreams. We have our own challenges. Some of us are even willing to be vulnerable and expose the other side of our real estate business persona - the person behind the marketing and negotiations.
Some aren't willing. That's okay too.
That's enough of my heart-felt musings for today. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post announcing another November challenge. All I can say about THAT is that I promise it will be light-hearted fun.
Happy Sunday Everyone!
