We'd been searching for a home for this lovely young couple for a year or more, on and off. We'd looked in the burbs, we'd looked in the city. We saw condos that were gorgeous, and townhomes that were not. Near downtown, and underneath the highways. We'd investigated everything.
Sometimes we jumped out to view a single home, and sometimes we made a day of it. When we weren't able to find something they loved, last year, they renewed their lease where they were renting, and put the search off for the better part of a year.
Recently we'd started looking again, as the end of their lease was up and coming. We'd just looked at a home that suited them very well. Very well. So he said to me "This is the one, let's get you paid", meaning to me... "let's write it up". As you can imagine, that phrase warms the cockles of my heart.
But I was more impressed with the fact that he understood that I don't get paid until they buy something, and that I'd been working hard for them for a long time without being paid. So many consumers just don't understand that at all.
You gotta love when that happens.... A little recognition goes a long way.
