Special offer

One more day and we get back TV and front lawns

The a little bit off-year election is just a day away from becoming nothing more than old news.  Contemplating the meaning of this event offers an opportunity to count our blessings.  After tomorrow, we will be able to watch television without scary boogeyman voices telling us that virtually everybody running for anything is Not For Us, whatever that means.  We will be able to return to watching normal commercials that inform us how to instruct our physicians on what to prescribe.

If the polls and predictions are correct, we will still have a "Party of obstruction," but it will be the other party when the newly elected do-nothings assume their chairs.  And, of course, Wednesday marks the beginning of the 2016 campaign season.

The real estate part of the election will be realized in the several days after it's over.  The yard signs will disappear, except of course, for the for sale signs.  I noticed one election contestant's sign looks remarkably like one of the more prominent real estate broker's for sale signs.  Don't know whether that helped either the candidate or the broker.

Good evening Mike. Boy do I look forward to that. Enough already with the commercials and caches.

Personally, I can't wait for election to be over.  I dread the next Presidential election.

You're right...it won't be long before candidates begin their 2016 onslaught. Things have to change.  I heard that in places like Europe the election season is only a matter of weeks and its over.

More opinions than you want to hear about.

Enroute to the polling place today, I got to thinking about the Hong Kong protesters who are upset because China may interfere with their ability to have what they consider are good candidates on their ballots.  Then I got to my destination and looked at my ballot.

Yuk, politics. It's a real shame isn't it?  I too am NOT looking forward to the next Presidential election. What a bunch of negative energy that's going to throw into the mix.

( By the way, spotted you on another blog because of your photo with the Golden. I am a fellow Golden lover, and therefore, a new follower. My "Mac" is a white Golden and the just the sweetest pal..)

Hi Debb, we can enjoy 2015 like all the odd numbered years with no major elections/campaigns.   Mac looks like a great companion and assistant.  My picture is with Dylan a couple years ago.  He now has a little sister (Gabby) who treats him a lot like my little sister treated me.

If we ever relocate, you'll end up with a client.  The Vancouver area is my idea of a perfect place to live.  What a combination, great outdoor stuff, no state income tax, and just a river to cross for no sales tax.
