Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but the stores are already gearing up for Christmas - even St Augustine'sNights of Lights is scheduled to "go live" before Thanksgiving! Do you think that's rushing things? I guess the duration of turkey day is just too short to invest much time or money on it. A family day, with food, fun and lots of turkeys, but not so much to buy otherwise unless...you consider shopping on Black Friday or even on the very day when many stores are considering opening even earlier.
Here is a quick survey just for fun...
1) Do you fight the crowds on black Friday?
2)If so, has it been worth it? Is it always worth it?
3) Would you get up from the table to shop even earlier?
4) Do you agree with the prediction that this year people will shop later for Christmas, with Dec. 20th displacing Black Friday as the number one shopping day of the year?

Some real estate info.. According to Trulia, the median sales price for the week ending Oct.14th in the St. Augustine area was 209,950, while nationally it was at $200,000.The average listing price for the week ending Oct.22nd here was $335,648, down somewhat from Oct.1st. Listings continue to be snapped up as the inventory is still low, down from 1900 to below 1800 this month - sure sign that sales are still solid. My prediction is that the market locally is nowhere near headed for a cool-down!!
