What book are currently reading?
Right now I'm currently reading the book The E-Myth Revisited "Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work
and What to do about it" by Michael E. Gerber. This book is a book that has been recommended by many real estate agents who have successfully built Real Estate Teams. They even have a The E-Myth Real Estate Brokerage book.
This book is just not for real estate agents. This book is for anyone who either currently owns a business or is in the process of forming their own business. Many people have businesses but they are still working for the business instead of working to continue to make the business. It doesn't make financial sense to hire somebody to do something only for you to be closely examining their every single move. You hire people who are skilled in certa in areas so it can allow you to effectively run the day to day operations of your business as the Chairman/C.E.O of the company.
There are many things that I have read so far about Small Businesses. He talked about the most successfully small business in the world-McDonald's,The Entrepreneurial Model-A model of business that fulfills the perceived needs of a specific segment of customers in an innovative way,The Entrepreneurial Myth-A misunderstanding that has cost us dearly in this country-more than we can possibly imagine-in our lost resources, opportunities and The Comfort Zone-The boundary within which he feels secure in his ability to control his environment and outside of which he begins to lose that control and how as a salesperson at a retail store saying "Have you been in this store before?" instead of saying "May I help you?" can add around 16% increase to your sales. Now wouldn't want to make a change to their business if it will help increase it 16%?
Michael E.Gerber has written many E-Myth books so he must know what he is talking about. INC Magazine called him the World's #1 Small Business Guru. I have about 80 pages left to read in this book that I just started reading last week. So if you have a small business or is considering starting a small business,I highly recommend you to read this book.
