Sun Lakes, Arizona is consistently ranked in the "Top 10 Active Adult communities in the US" by US News and World Report. There are many factors that go into that acclaimed designation; and without doubt, a large factor is the outstanding golfing available to Sun Lakes residents.
There are five distinct communities within Sun Lakes, governed by three Home Owners Associations (HOA). Each community has at least one golf course and each community in Sun Lakes has different prices and packages for the full-year resident, the winter resident and some to non-residents.
Sun Lakes Country Club is a private 18-hole, par 60 course. Unlimited golf is offered to Sun Lakes Country Club residents for $950 per year (Nov 1-Oct 31); residents of the other sections of Sun Lakes can buy an annual package for $1100 per year.
Cottonwood-Palo Verde HOA in Sun Lakes offers unlimited packages as well. Cottonwood is a private par 72 18-hold course. Unlimited golf in Cottonwood is offered for $1525/year for Cottonwood residents and $1625 for non-Cottonwood Sun Lakes residents. Palo Verde is a private par 62, 18-hole course with unlimited play at $1225/year for Palo Verde residents and $1325 for non-Palo Verde Sun Lakes residents. Or for more variety, one can purchase unlimited golf at both Cottonwood and Palo Verde for $1725 per year for Cottonwood-Palo Verde residents, or $1825 per year for non Cottonwood-Palo Verde Sun Lakes residents.
IronOaks in Sun Lakes consists of the Ironwood and Oakwood communities. There are three course with a total of 45 holes. The golf courses in IronOaks are open to the public. The most deluxe package in IronOaks is the 7 day Unrestricted Play at any of the courses. Price is $2377 per year for Iron-Oaks residents and $2600 per year for non-residents. To play at Ironwood only, the package is $2067 for residents and $2300 for non-residents. A weekend membership package from October through May for unrestricted play is $1550 for residents per season and $1700 for non-residents.
In addition, all the golf courses in Sun Lakes offer "punch card" memberships in varying sizes, ranging from 5 to 25 rounds. So there is a course and a package for every golfer's needs in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
