We are enjoying an Indian Summer week with temps in the 60s and it's great. But, now it may be time to prep for the cold season to come.
The Farmer's Almanac is saying that we need to prep for the "shivery and shovelry" with hot cocoa and firewood, especially in late January and early February next year -- lot's o' snow predicted! Some tips are below to do a fairly quick sweep through your property and make it safe and ready for winter 2014/2015. Let's hope for no more polar vortexes....right, even though it's always there, but we don't always feel fthe frigid effects in the U.S.?! If you are like us, it's a major challenge to prep for winter in my colonial home. Mainly, it's the dreaded winter from summer clothes and shoes change up! It takes an entire weekend day because I have "inspiration" clothes that may or may not fit.
But, remember to change those batteries in all of your non-electric fire detectors -- that's more important than finding that favorite sweater from last winter! Fall weekends are the best for house and office prep ahead of the cold season to come.
