Don't Forget to Vote Today on Election Day Nov.4, 2014

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!!

Today is an important day across our great country and their are so many important federal, state and local seats plus many propositions to vote for. Though it is not a presidential election this year, it is still very important so make the effort to get out and vote. If you don't vote, then you really don't have a reason to complain about the state of affairs.

Trivia: In 1845, the United States was largely an agrarian society. Farmers often needed a full day to travel by horse-drawn vehicles to the county seat to vote. Tuesday was established as election day because it did not interfere with the Biblical Sabbath or with market day, which was on Wednesday in many towns.

It is wonderful to live in a country where all registered voters have the right to vote. Voters have a the absolute right to vote for any candidate and cannot be persecuted for their vote. What many do not realize, is that this is not the case in all countries of our world.

No matter what your party affiliation is, all votes are so important. If you don't have a ride, call someone to pick you up Many cities have buses and vans that will take you to the polls.

Polls are open from 8:00 am- 8:00 pm so make time to vote.

Don't forget to Vote Today on Nov 4, 2014

Kristin - I'm not voting this year because I honestly could not name a single person on the ballot in CA...I'd be choosing based solely on political party which I don't like doing.  This made me realize that I need to be more politically active, or at least aware.

Hi John,

I was planning to be gone so I voted ahead of time. We had 10 propositions and they will all would cause a lot more taxes to taxpayers in the state but unfortunately 3 of them passed so more taxes for us.

Hi Sussie,

I am glad you voted and apparently a lot of people voted across the country as the senate races were pretty hot. Two states, on is Alaska, may have run-offs.

Hi Sharon,

I am not happy with the results either here in CA but it is 4 more years. So be it, huh! Maybe the tide will turn or we might move.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for posting in your group " California Dreaming'. I may not be happy with all the results but I feel it is wonderful that we have the freedom to vote.
