Keep the Sunshine During the Winter Months

Happy Selling!

Yesterday in St. Louis was a cold and rainy day and a brief discussion with a few agents reinforced the need for "Sunshine" during the coming months of rain, snow and dreary days.  It's a difficult time for some who suffer depression and feelings of inadequacy.  So what can we do as agents to build the "sunshine"  and possibly increase our business during this time?

I say "make it personal".

1.  Take the time to write a personal note to someone. With email, we have taken some of the one-on-one time we used to spend with clients.  Who doesn't like to get a card or note in the mail?  Last year, when my daughter moved away from home for the first time, I asked friends of hers and relatives to "flood her Texas mailbox"  during the week of her birthday.  She received tons of cards all week and it helped to make her birthday special.

2.  Take a plate of cookies or small plant to an elderly neighbor or even to a hard working "at home" Mom  who could use a break.

3.  Pick up the phone and call someone.  Ask about the kids or parents. It just lets them know that you are thinking about them.

It doesn't take much to bring a little "sunshine" to someone's life. You'll feel better too and I bet your business will increase!

A hand written notecard , a smile or a simple hello how are you doing can mean so much to a person.  This is a great reminder to everyone to just reachout to our friends , families and neighbors as we head into the long, and sometimes dreary winter season..
