When should I sell my house?
I get this question a lot...when is a good time to sell my house? My short answer is NOW, but there is more to it. The number #1 goal of sellers is to get the highest price in the shortest time as possible. Trying to find the prefect time to sell in order to achieve this the golden ticket. History shows that there are highs and lows in the Real Estate Market.
In the Real Estate world, we agents know more homes go on the market late spring and during summer months. Real estate marketplaces are generally most active in summer because families with children want to move in before school starts. While there are buyers during this time, there are more homes to compete with as a seller. Buyers and sellers tend to balance out in other seasons, too especially in today’s tight market. Fall/winter typically mean less homes on the market and less buyers, but these buyers tend to be more serious. There may be fewer buyers in late December but usually fewer homes, too. So, prices tend to rise or fall on general demand in that market rather than time of year. We could debate until we are blue in the face as to when the best time to sell your house is. I am here to tell you something different. The best time to sell your house is when you and your house is ready.
Only you and your family can best determine when you should sell your house. You can look at other homes going on the market all you want, but if you (and your house) are not ready, then it is not a good time.
As you will see in this video, it’s best to sell when you and your house are ready to sell. Start working with a real estate professional as early as possible to make the most of your sale in any season.
