Throwback Thursday - Flight of the Pegasus

1975, who remembers?

Before title, before real estate... before I even ever thought of owning a home of my own there was something else quite different. 1975 through 1977 was all about Pegasus.

We were totally a concept group. Dave Hoskin (percussion), Grant Stott (piano, vocals, bass), and myself (bass, guitar, vocals) we played many a gig together around town during those few short years.

The group, Pegasus. Rene Fabre, Dave Hoskin, Grant Stott, 1975.

What we played was very danceable, it was club music, yet we were more than that. We were driven to take it to the next level. Our rendition of the familiar tunes was probably in hindsight way too out there for the crowd we were trying to embrace.

Yet, we actually accomplished what we set out to do on a few occasions, but mostly we had to face present and future. We showed up at the wrong venues for all the right reasons and we (as more often than not happens in showbiz) didn’t make it!

We had one Hell of an Adventure for a couple of years however and created some awesome lifetime memories! I wouldn’t trade those days for anything!

Heres a rehearsal recording, our take on the old song  Kansas City.

Hi René, That is great. What fun this must have been and you will always have these memories. The experience probably had a real effect on your ability to teach and hold an audience. Every experience shapes us into who we are

Rene, though they only lasted a short time; thanks to the internet, a recording and a cool photo on active rain, they will live on forever.  Thanks for sharing the memories!

Rene Fabre That is awesome. I sort of have a similar story but a decade latter.

William... Indeed, every experience does and in one way or another can be applied to the present.

Bob... Thanks! Digital is forever!

Endre... Indeed... One never knows where the path will lead, plan or no plan.

Sheila... I totally went for it for several years. Still do, in a way.

Fantastic recording!  Perhaps I could use it on a video sometime?  I love the funky jazz sound!

Rene, I love this!  You need to find an old recording that you can somehow download.
