The Happy Wanderer!! (A Cat Story)

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty of Southwest Missouri

Today our indoor cat, Snickles became the happy wanderer!

I was the first one home this afternoon.  As I pulled into the driveway I looked up and saw a black cat strolling down the sidewalk in the back yard inside the fence.

My first thought was that the next door neighbor's cat was in the yard.  He does come to visit from time to time.

But then much to my surprise I spotted the red collar that Miss Snickles wears.  I ask her what she was doing outside and more to the point how did she get out but she did not want to talk about it.

She went in the garage and straight to the door, all the while meowing at me like it was my fault!  After all she had been out all afternoon and she was cold and hungry.

She had to have gotten out into the garage when my husband was loading his van when he was getting ready to leave without his seeing her.

I called him to tell him what had happened.  He says "How did she get out?"

My answer was "You tell me because she won't."

Tonight she is still staying away from us like it is our fault!!  I don't know why she is mad at me!  After all I am the one who let her in!

Hello Barbara,  My dog, Brandy gets upset if we let her out to long also.  I wonder who made her the boss?

Cats are such funny creatures.  I talk to my two dogs all the time.  I know they understand me but they choose to pretend that they don't.  I'm sure Miss Snickles will think twice before she becomes the wanderer again.

You don't own a cat, they have servants. Herding cats in or out is hard too!

Barbara, my cats love to escape at any opportunity, but they know where the Cat Chow bag is and always come back.

After being out for most of the day . . . .  Snickels will be staying inside in the heat and air conditioning.

Good luck and success.

I had a cat sitter when we were on vacation once and chased our neighbors cat for about an hour... she went inside to call me and there was our similar looking cat.  Just a case of mistaken identity.

Barbara, our kitties have this secret life, and they often don't want to share very much of it with their humans!  Just enough to get us to feed them...

Sassy little girl, isn't she? I'm glad she got home safely - that's my biggest fear.

Barbara, my all time favorite cat, Mr. Snowball (white blue eyed kitty) escaped and refused to come home.  He adopted two guys who lived down the street.  Oh, well.

Cats are so funny. My Aslan bolts out the door sometimes. I have to pretend to ignore him so he comes up to and I can grab him and get him inside. There are a lot of stray cats in the neighborhood and I don't want him getting hurt from fighting with one of them.
