Quite frankly, my first reaction to this story was "Really?  I wouldn't imagine a Smart Car could hit someone hard enough to kill 'em".

 

Pedestrian hit, killed by Smart car in Osceola County

 

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla.  Florida Highway Patrol reports that a pedestrian was hit and killed after walking into the path of a Smart car driven by a young woman in Osceola County.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday on Orange Blossom Trail near Washington Avenue.

Troopers shut down the intersection during the investigation.
The driver was Chantelle Baez, 22, of Orlando.
The pedestrian was a 50-year-old man from St. Petersburg.
FHP reports the fatal crash remains under investigation.
