Should We Sell Now or Is It Best to Wait Till Spring?

The fall and winter markets are often felt not to be a optium time of year to be in the Real Estate Market.  Typically the "Spring Real Estate Market" is considered the best time.  However, the fall and winter market may work the best for YOU! for a number of reasons.

SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY;

There are always buyers in the Real Estate Market! However, in the fall and winter months there tends to be fewer showings of your home to the typical just lookers. Leaving qualified and serious buyers only!

LESS COMPETITION;

Allowing you to pinpoint a accurate price with the probability that a competitive offer of purchase will be received.  In addition with less supply you as a seller have greater negotiating power for the best price with fewer concessions to get the house sold.

COMPETITIVE MORTGAGE RATES;

The lending market is also based on supply and demand.  With fewer industry sales in the fall and winter months agents are able to often find very competitive rates and lending offers. The rates are currently at record lows and are forecast to increase as we head back into the spring market.  A Lower rate could safe you more in the long term than a increase in the spring market values.

STAGING FOR HOLIDAYS;

Simple "seasonal" decor, aroma and festive colour aids can give the home a warm and welcoming feel to potential buyers.  Potential Less days on the Market.

LESS STRESS IN THE TRANSACTION PROCESS;

The lower volume of transactions typically means that supporting professionals such as lawyers, home inspectors, moving companies, renovators have more time to aid in your process in a timely manner. End result is MUCH LESS STRESS FOR YOU!

In consideration, It May Be the Right Time For You to Consider Selling Now and Not in the Spring.

Hi Pam Welcome to ActiveRain, This is a marvelous post and you captured all the best reasons why a typically slower season is also an opportunistic time to sell and Buy. Well done!

Selling houses in the fall/winter/spring is much easier - the buyers are more motivated and the sellers are too.
