Long Dock - A Beacon NY Park

LONG DOCK Park in Beacon NY - Perfect any time of year.

I am a frequent visitor of Long Dock. This is a clean up site owned by Scenid Hudson River. Once a dump site now a cleaned up park that is perfect for many things. Taking photos is one of them. Long Dock faces Newburgh NY and the skyline at sunset is amazing. I am just glad to know that someone cared enough to clean this environmental disaster up and make it a park. You would never know, as there is nothing left behind from its commercial and industrial history. Now it is dotting with kayaks and people launching boats. The rehab area of wetland and meadow marshes attract wildlife. It makes me happy.

LONG DOCK PARK AT TWILIGHT

On any given day the views of the Hudson River are wonderful. Ever changing and dynamic the river is a compelling place to sit and watch as the boats go by. Every season has its unique views and sunsets can be amazing. My husband and his new affinity for photography is a great thing. It allows us to enjoy taking photos all the time for fun. While he uses his photos for fun, I use mine for blogging. With so many places in the Hudson Valley to blog about we are never at a loss for finding something to enjoy, take photos of and share.

Chris- beautiful it is. When they are all off the trees then I wish I was in FloridaAgain

Debbie Gartner - Hubby got a good laugh from that one!!

You would love it Roger D. Mucci bring a chair, an adult beverage and it is a great place to hang out. This time of year it may warrant a warmed beverage at that!

Ginny - more like a winter coat now and my UGH boots!! Pretty, but windy!! and a tad cold.

Just absolutely beautiful Janis. Thanks for turning us in to Long Dock Park. Great animated photo too. I love the three trees and their colors, the blend of red, gold and brown (as I see it)?

Thanks Noah Seidenberg it is getting dark so early anymore and the temperature is headed south. I wish I was too. I am certain that it is colder for you than me for most of the winter though.
