I didn't think a Realtor, having been in the business for more than three decades, would still attend National and state-level association conferences in order to learn more about the business. Nor did I think bread pudding made out of cornbread would be any good. But some do, and yes it is delicious!
This evening, I dined with three amazing ladies: two new agents (licensed less than two years) and one 30+ year veteran Realtor. (I, myself, am ten years into my real estate career.) Two of these ladies from my local office have been my room mates for the last four days, and we have had a wonderful time sharing stories and brainstorming ideas we plan to implement into our businesses in the next year.
I love to spend time with agents that are focused on getting better at their craft, and investing in themselves. It is refershing to see newer agents that already see the value of investing in themselves to stay on top of the trends and changes in the market. I also love the fact that the veteran agent, who happens to be hugely successful, still invests in herself, being a perpetual, lifelong student. I love that she said, "When you think you 'know', you need to get out of the business. " She essentially said, you should never allow yourself to stop learning and growing. We want to be able to provide value to our clients, and by staying current, we are able to ensure the value is exceptional and timely. One way to do this is to attend state and national meetings and continuing education programs.
This week has been a series of amazing classes and exposure to new technology, tips and trends. I am so excited to take my new bag of tricks home to implement. And as amazing as these tools are, I am already getting excited to attend next years NAR Conference in San Diego!
