PRLog - Nov. 7, 2014 - LAS VEGAS -- JC Melvin, one of Las Vegas’ long time business brokers, was honored as the Realtor of the Year by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR). The 11,500 member organization honors a person who has contributed to both the organization and the community. Melvin, licensed since 1981, has written dozens of real estate programs for both the public and as continuing education for the real estate community. He has acted as a consultant to the Nevada real estate division and conducted training for the investigation team that looks into complaints by the consumer. Melvin is considered an expert in agency and NRS 645 which governs the Nevada real estate licensee and is one of the states premier expert witnesses in real estate litigation.
JC was recognized for spear heading the powerful NVAR (Nevada Association of Realtors) leadership program in Nevada which has now thrived for some 13 years. It remains one of the most powerful leadership programs in the state. This year, he played a major role in introducing a new leadership program to the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.
Melvin has been recognized as one of the most powerful speakers the state of Nevada has ever produced, having worked with the United States Agency for International Development, and conducting “Train the Trainer” programs in Russia, Romania, Poland and the Ukraine. He has presented a variety of programs across the United States and Western Europe.
Mr. Melvin is the corporate broker of one of the largest Keller Williams offices in the state of Nevada, KW Southwest. With 165 agents, they have a complete residential and commercial division and the elite business brokerage division headed by Melvin.
Melvin found himself speechless in front hundreds gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel for the GLVAR 2015 Directors and Presidents installation dinner this past Saturday evening. “I am honored and humbled”, expressed Melvin upon receiving the award. “The real estate community is like my family and the business has been very good to me over the years….I love you”, Melvin said, choking back tears of appreciation, to the crowd of dignitaries and guests.
