Gratitude and Goals, what a great concept for a contest this month!
Defining Gratitude is something that is pretty darn easy. It is giving thanks for that which you already have and for that which is on it’s way to you now. This does not just mean being thankful for the “positives” in your life ( family, friends, money, etc), which of course is always important, but it also means giving thanks for the challenges that allow you to learn and grow.
Each day before my feet touch the ground I take a moment to thank the universe for all that she has provided me and all that she continues to send my way. Some days this can be hard for some of us, but, we can always be thankful for life, for breathing, for health, nature, love, and support. Be thankful for the light, the light that guides our way “home”, be thankful for the dark, the dark that shows us the power within, and be thankful for the in between, that which lies amongst the light and the dark, for in the grays we are given the choices that can change our worlds.

Now, a lot of folks forget the “goals” part, and, while being grateful is of the utmost importance, setting and reaching goals is the physical manifestation of gratefulness. Let’s say you are looking for a new job … you might say “Universe (or whomever you call to), THANK YOU for the job you are sending my way. I am so grateful for this new opportunity”. Now, of course the Universe wants to provide for you, but, you are a reflection of what you put out, and nothing more. Have you applied for any jobs? Have you sent your resume out? Well, that’s the key. Give thanks, and then take action. Put your feet to the ground and begin walking your journey!
My Goals for the coming times are as follows:
Go Within - The winter is a time of “Darkness” which simply means that you may now “go within”. Find time for yourself, find time to be grateful and thankful for each and every moment you have in this life. Gather with your tribe and be thankful for the connections given to us as beings here on earth. Tune in to your intuition and seek knowledge that will fulfill your soul.
Prepare for Spring – Winter is the time to “plant the bulbs for spring”. What do you want to grow in your garden next year? Tulips? Garlic? Well, plant the bulbs now and send them into rich soil to gather nutrients for the bloom. The same goes for business or personal relationships. What do you want in your garden next year? More listings? More Buyers? Better and more meaningful experiences? Well, plant the bulbs. You may literally write down your “intentions” for the spring and plant them in the ground outside your home or in a special place. The best time to do this is on the equinox where the energies are strongest.

Be Thankful – yes, I covered this one above, but, this is a very important goal for me in the coming times. I continue to thank the powers that be (and thank the powers within my own soul) for offering such a beautiful path on which I may walk my journey.
Happy Thanksgiving (month) to all and to all a grateful day.
