Looks like it is time to put the clubs away for the winter - Okay, let's not get crazy, I will keep
them nearby, but we are having our first extended period of cold weather in the Denver area, and it looks like it will be with us for at least a week or more.
Fortunately we live in Colorado, so I am sure we will get plenty of winter golf in before next spring rolls around. We did have a very nice fall, and with one or two days that were exceptions, I think I could have played golf every day since the mid-April. Being a native of the area and an avid golfer I have enjoyed rounds every day of the year throughout my life here, except Christmas, which was my choice. I do recall a handful of Christmas's where the temperatures got into the 60's.
One great thing about the south metro are of Denver is Family Sports, the best practice facility in the state. With its synthetic turf range, 70 plus, double tiered stalls and heated lower level, you can hit balls year round to stay sharp if y
ou desire. I have been known to hit balls when the snow is falling, and with the heated range it really is pretty comfortable.
One thing I am looking forward to this coming spring, as if I was not getting enough of a golf fix is that TopGolf is coming to Centennial, CO in fact it will be about a half mile due east of Family Sports, I may just have to move between the two complexes so I can cut down on my commute, anyone know any Realtors that could help me out? TopGolf os a combination indoor driving range and sports bar and is more oriented for social gatherings,
I am really hoping it gets a lot more people excited about golf, even though I enjoy fewer golfers on the course, many courses have struggled the past few years because the number of golfers hgas dropped nationally, so it will be good to get some new excitement around the sport I love.
So even though the snow is about to fly in Colorado we have options, and with 300 days of sunshine , unless the Farmers Almanac is correct this year (lots of snow and cold here) then you will find me on the course 12 months a year.
