If you've been driving in some of the schools zones in Kaufman County, you may have noticed a Kaufman County School Zone Safety car parked near certain Kaufman County Schools.
Kaufman County has taken the initiative to reduce school zone speeding and flashing bus light runners. It is called the School Zone Safety Program The goal of the program is to reduceuce speeds and increase safety for children, pedestrians, and cyclists in school zones. This program is two-fold: It enhances enforcement abilities while freeing up other police resources to focus on the mission of promoting traffic safety.

Public safety is the highest priority of the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department and we believe these speed safety camera programs will help make our roadways safer for both residents and visitors of our community. These cameras are another way our Department is using technology to improve public safety.
