Okay, so the first one is down.

What I should have said is....Does anybody have any suggestions on the fastest way to learn how to blog on Active Rain? Short cuts, tips, tricks, hints, etc.....

Not begging...but nicely asking for some friendly help on the subject.

Best Website in the WORLD - I figured out the hyperlink tool...thanks to my handsome boyfriend who is also giving me a crash course. Thanks Angel!

What the heck are tags, links, points>>????...How do you choose what to Post To? .I feel so "out of the loop" so to speak. I know things take time, but don't you wish you could just press a button and BAM - Presto - You know everything all at once.

That would be helpful right about now...

Here's my first photo....hope it works! My Max decided to take a nap...and the grass wasn't cuttin it...so he did what any normal dog would do....walked over to the patio, grabbed the cushins off the chairs, and made himself comfortable. Good boy - so much for the pillows!

Sleeping like a baby...

Hi Sarah, welcome to ActiveRain!

The best thing you can do is join the Newbies Group, there are a lot of helpful posts there that will answer lots and lots of your questions when you read many of the posts there.

Also, just try and read as many blog posts as you can. You get 25 points for comments made (up to 10 a day for 250 points a day) and 200 points for each post (must be at least 200 words - I think). Points are nice and fun, but the real benefit is with your participation...you will learn so much here, and everyone will benefit with what you share.

Welcome to Rain and congratulations on: 1. your first post and 2. that beautiful picture you uploaded successfully.

FAQ's may well give you most of the answers your are looking for. Post about anything that you feel is worth writing about. Work experiences, life in general, technical date, statistical date, etc. As you read more blogs you will become more familiar with topics.

Seems like you did pretty good for your 1st blog. You did a photo. If you need help sizing your photo or placing in on the page. You go to the tree icon click on the appearance tag go to alignment use drop down menu and choose where you want it. Once you do that click insert. You then can move the photo all over the page. Good luck.

Nyana - Thanks for the congrats! The photo was easy. You just look for the TREE icon just above where you type text into the blog. Then you will have 3 boxes appear at the top of the page. The first box that says Image URL will have a little red and white box to the right of the text box. Click on that. Then, a seperate window pops up that says UPLOAD AN IMAGE TO ACTIVE RAIN. Click on the BROWSE button to find the image on your computer. Then once you find the photo you want to add, you just click on it. The rest should be self explanatory. Let me know if you need help. We can figure it out together.
