I have a confession to make. I love Guinness Stout Beer. I'm quite certain the love affair started when I visited Ireland for my son's wedding in 2001. I stayed for about a week touring the country, staying at bed and breakfasts, and visiting Pubs. But that's another adventure story all by itself!
I was delighted to find a little bit of Ireland in Franklin TN at McCreary's Irish Pub and Eatery located at 414 Main Street in the heart of historic, downtown Franklin.
It's a cozy place where one feels at home immediately upon entering. It's warm and friendly and is one of my favorites. It's the sort of place you can pop into after a day of shopping or just hang out while your spouse is shopping! It's packed with families on a Saturday night with everyone enjoying the food and atmosphere.
One lazy afternoon I sat with my son eating Fish and Chips during the 3 PM to 6 PM Happy Hour (for draughts) reliving our Ireland experience. It was so much fun!
Their food options are amazing and varied. They offer everything from Shepherd's Pie and the aforementioned Fish and Chips, to incredible Corned Beef and Cabbage. It's an extensive menu of both Irish and American food (they have fabulous burgers!).
If Guinness is not your favorite, they also serve Harp Irish Lager and Smithwick's Irish Ale on draught. They have are large selection of beers and ales.
Give McCreary's Irish Pub and Eatery a try. You won't be disappointed!
