Video is pretty new to me. I've made attempts off and on over the past couple years, but most of the time the end product is crap. I have a very bad video of a local park that has had well over 400 views and shows up first or second in Google searches. But the quality is so poor I wonder if any views are beneficial.
Like anything, the more videos I make and the more I read here on Activerain, the better outcome. They are still quite a long ways from professional quality, but without blowing my own horn too loudly, they are better than most of the videos put out by local agents.
So I thought it was time to set up my YouTube channel and add a subscribe annotation to my videos. And while I was at it I thought there had to be a way to have a back link to my web site. And there is- as an annotation. So I went through the steps to verify my web site and thought the next step was to go to the drop down menu after clicking the link box and click on associated website.
But associated website wasn't a choice. I waited a day or two- thought it may need time, but it still wasn't there.
So today I'm working from home (no wheels- got a 4 point with my car, but that is another blog post). So I'm sitting here drinking hot cider and watching Robin Hood- the Russel Crowe version. The Andalusian horses in this version are just magnificent to watch. Anyway, I'm watching Robin Hood, drinking cider from my John Wayne coffee mug and puffing on my e-ciggie and thought I would give the linking another try.
I went to the help section and saw I wasn't the only one having a problem. YouTube states in the help section that the first time you need to go to the top of the page and click on the link to enable the site. Sooo I went to the top left and clicked on the link and all I got were instructions. By the time I figured out that I needed to go to the link at the RIGHT side of the frame, Robin Hood was over and I had Hondo on. I think the mug inspired me.
Hope this helps anyone else who was missing what was right in them!
