Fall has left Middletown Connecticut, and is Winter is here.  I posted my  "First Progression of Fall Blog Of 2014 on September 26th", and the first picture above of the trees just before they began to change color.  I took the second picture a couple of weeks later, and posted it in my "Second Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT".  The trees had began to change, but there wasn't much of a change yet.  By the Third Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the change in colors had started to be much more noticeable.   In the Fourth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the color change was even more noticeable.  By the Fifth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the trees had started to lose their leaves, and we began to see less color than the week before.  In the Sixth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, even thought the trees had continued to lose their leaves it almost appeared to be more color than the week before.  In the Seventh Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, all the rain and wind we had took down most of the leaves. In this Final Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, almost all the leaves are gone, and what few remain are barely hanging on, and will be gone in a few days.

One thing which is also very apparent in this final picture, is the gloomy cold dark Wintry skies.  The temperatures are cold and damp, and the wind chill feels like it is cutting right through you.

I started doing this series of the progression of Fall colors Two years ago, and hope to continue this series for years to come. The first two years the pictures were of a farm which is only about a minute walk from my house.  This year I decided to change the location for my 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT. to a lake about 5 minutes from my house.  I have continue to post pictures of this same spot throughout the Fall to show the progression of the Fall colors this year.

Fall is a beautiful time of the year in New England, but the last couple of years have only been average years for Fall colors.  I have become spoiled by the beautiful colors we normally see during the Fall, and even though the last couple of years the colors were OK, this year the colors were outstanding.  The spot these pictures were taken in did not change as much from week to week as some other areas in town, but still provided a good representation of the colors we are so use to seeing, and many times take for granted.  My favorite colors are the trees with yellow, orange, and rust color leafs when they blend together.

Fall has left Middletown Connecticut, and is Winter is here as you can see in this Final Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT.  I hope those who followed my series of the progression of Fall colors, have enjoy the experience of seeing the change in colors of our trees here in Middletown, CT along with me.  I look forward to continuing this Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT. again next year, but for now I need to prepare for the cold snowy weather that is setting in for the next 4-5 months.

Good morning George. The only thing that comes to mind when I look at this progression of pictures is, "Going, going, gone!"

Good morning George. I'm not sure how you can throw 5 picks and still have a chance to win, thought they would pull it out for sure.

Make it a great week!

Yes, most of the leaves have fallen.  It's funny though as in some areas we still have a bunch and other areas very little.

George: We can't stop mother nature from doing her thing, as evident in this progression of photos. I hope your winter ends up being a mild one.

Hi George - that is a great series of photos.  All of the leaves are down here as well.  To me, it is the gloomiest time of the year, the time between the colorful autumn and the white winter.

Oh my.  You echoed my comment to a friend Saturday. "I hate winter."  It's true.

It was just simply GLOOMY out and I said, "I want some sunshine."

My red tree suddenly lost all its leaves overnight with the rain and winds we had last night... so even though it's warmer in Charlotte, the landscape is beginning to look a lot like Connecticut.

Hi George: The last picture is almost barren now. It is the sign of the colder weather ahead of us. Bundle up.

George, that is so wildly spectacular to see the transformation. Just lovely and should be in a magazine. You should sell them on e-bay and title it "Final Progression".
