What A Difference a Few Days Makes...Winter is Coming

We had three days of wintry weather to remind us of what season we are heading into. Snow fell in Cedaredge, but didn't stick to the ground for very long. We actually had more rain than snow. Of course Grand Mesa received a lot of snow, but I haven't heard an official snowfall report yet. What a difference a few days can make. On Tuesday this tree was still stunning with it's bright yellow leaves against the blue sky.

Our extended fall was really nice, and we were treated to some beautiful fall colors for many weeks...much longer than usual. Now with the colder temperatures, the fall color is gone. It's amazing what a difference a few days and drop in low temperatures can do. We got down to about 15 degrees in town last night. Here's a picture of what we enjoyed for many weeks during the fall. This is the same tree as the picture above. I guess Mother Nature is telling us it's time to get ready for winter. Look at the difference a few days can make.
