I received an email from a buyer inquiring as to the state of the upper-end market on Lady's Island, one of Beaufort's top real estate communities.
Below is my response, which reflects the recovering-- but still top-heavy-with-sellers-- segment of the market.
Yes, the upper-end market is very slow in Beaufort. For instance, on Lady's Island, there have been only five sales have been for more than $800,000 in the past 12 months, and only one of more than $1 million.
There are 22 active homes listed for more than $800,000, an average of about a year on the market. Of these, 15 are listed for more than $1 million.
As an FYI, the house at 16 South Bluff was taken off the market today. I will see what I can find out.
