Annual Lighting of the Streets of Southglenn A couple years ago, my wife and a few of our
friends were at our favorite Friday afternoon happy hour spot in the Streets of Southglenn when all of a sudden there arose such a clatter, for out from our window but who should appear but a band from Arapahoe High School, and a couple reindeer, there were dancing performers and juggling uni-cyclists, and the lights of the Streets brightened the entire area, and then the jolly old elf himself came through the town on a sleigh for all the kids and parents alike to enjoy.
We had picked a great time to go to our favorite watering hole and it has since become a tradition for family and friends to gather and watch the lighting of The Streets of Southglenn for the holidays. I will be at Bar Louie's at a window table with my friends if anyone would
care to join us. Tonight should be very nice weather for the show, which really seems to kick off the holidays around here for us and the shops.
I love when the ice rink opens and the lights, literally tens of thousands of them dance across the streets from one side to the other, seeing all the happy kids running around trying to catch a glimpse of Santa, there is definitely a crispness in the air but also a sense of reliving childhood, and that is always a good thing.
