Generating My Home Gratitude Checklist Goes Beyond Thanksgiving Day

Have you ever felt like Thanksgiving is supposed to mean the one day for us to be thankful for all sort of things---even our homes.  By adopting a consistent daily attitude of gratitude over the last few years, I've become less hung up on what material things others may have and have become more appreciative of what I already have.  What things about your home make you grateful on a daily basis?

I am grateful for this marble backsplash installed in my new kitchen recently.

The above is my tile installer putting up a beautiful carrera marble backsplash in my new kitchen.

Earlier today my neighbor's expansion tank in her basement ruptured.  She heard a loud sound but didn't realize that it was coming from her own property until later this afternoon---after her entire basement flooded with water dumped from her radiator system.  She now has no heat for her home, and is starting to face the challenge of finding a plumber as the holiday season is quickly approaching!  Fortunately, several neighbors already are offering to help, and she other places where she can stay temporarily, if needed.

Situations like the above remind me to be thankful for each day and never take anything in our homes for granted.  The following is a home gratitude list, and maybe you can come up with your own list, too!

1) I am grateful for living in a wonderful home!

2) I am grateful for living in a comfortable home for all seasons!

3) I am grateful for having highly energy efficient home!

4) I am grateful for keeping a clean home with great energy flow!

5) I am grateful for all the talented contractors who've helped me over the years make my

home the great place it is today!

6) I am grateful for all the years of enjoyment my home has offered me and my family!

7) I am grateful for the fine quality of construction and character that my home has!

8) I have grateful to live in a neighborhood of beautiful homes, and mine is one of them!

9) I am grateful for the wonderful energy efficient and dependable appliances that my

     home has!

10) I am grateful for the pleasing variety of wall colors in my home!

You nailed it. I am also very grateful for owning my home and living here and enjoying it. Even the mundane things like repairs... so thankful to have a home that I can repair.
