Yes, I do sell that style house!

Have you found that, at times, your success in listing/selling a certain style of home might work against you? For example, a potential new listing has found its way to you - but the Sellers express concern that while they know you are successful at selling... say historic homes, they don't know if you sell new builds.

                                                                                           Manor Home

It is important to address this upfront - maybe you only work in a specific genre so you don't want to take the listing. But, if you do sell more than one style of home - let your potential Seller know this! It seems obvious to do this, but too often this discussion does not occur and if no one brings it up... well, then you may miss out.

Communication is the obvious solution here - chat yourself up!

Hey Jackie-that has happened to me too! Back in the 90's I was well know as the "Condo King" of Miami Beach. It was always a challenge to get those single family homes back then.

Jackie, it sure is important for agents to make sure their marketing conveys the diversity of selling all types of property.  A good monthly newsletter can help you spread that message.
