John F. Kennedy, 51 Years later, Does Anyone Remember?

I remember.  Last year much attention was paid to the 50th anniversary, but like you, I haven't heard anything about JFK's death today.

     I was in second grade.  They let us out of school early.  I remember the church bells were ringing in our town; when I got home our maid was sitting on the front steps crying.  After a while my parents came home, they were very troubled.

I was in kindergarten. Our black and white TV was broken, so when my mom heard she yanked me across the street to the neighbors house. I decided that day that Mr. Johnson had some pretty large shoes to fill.

We had gotten out of high school a few hours earlier and were playing football at a local park when we got the news from a police officer that was on duty there

Ken: I remember the sad time very well and recall how the entire Country was brought to tears.
