A 2 post day (#22 of 30)

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH / @properties DC / MD / VA

It's not been clear to me why I should put my listings into Active Rain.  That's a great excuse for not doing so, yet I suspect the true reason that I'm not sure how to do it right, or how to do it perfect.

Having stepped away from truly reading/commenting in the past 2-3 days, I jumped back in today.

This was a great reason to try to do a litsing, and a better listing  than simply a dump.  I got something done.  Maybe not perfect, but much better than prior attempts from years past.

Still working on this 30 in 30 contest.  Surely they wouldn't accept a listing as a "post".  Maybe they would.  The easy and faster solution here is to add this post, and cover myself regardless of the rules. As a benefit, the listing is on Active Rain, and surely the client benefits. So don't I, and so, the scales are perfectly balanced. And now I have 2 days worth of reading to go catch up on.

Claude I always post my Listings or should I say those that are allowed by my clients...The way I do it is just like a regular post with the exception that the focus is on the property....One of my biggest listing is confidential and I am not in a position to publish it....Endre

Claude, I blog about my listings.  Photos, slide shows and descriptions that make you really want to visit there and enjoy the home/lake/view.  I have never done the "form" type listings though. And I have sold a few homes as a direct result of my blog.

Claude, I think it makes sense to post your listings, not to necessarily get it sold, but to show that you are an active agent that knows that neighborhood. Others may read the post and think to contact you when they decide to list or buy in that neighborhood.

I believe, they count listings in contests too. Why not? You can post: 'coming soon', 'new listing', 'backup', 'pending', 'sold!'~ 5 on 1:)

Endre Barath, Jr. You're right about that. Some sellers want to be very discrete.

Tammy Lankford I've just about called you a few times to see some of your homes; they look like a very relaxing area to be in.

Troy Erickson You're correct.  It also confirms to my sellers that I'm using additional marketing channels.

Absolutely it is... well except last night when I was out in a tornado warning to get a counter offer signed.

Sharon Paxson I can't think of a reason not to, and so, with several reasons to do so, it's a no-brainer.  I just need to get myself into the habit.

Tammy Lankford Going out in a tornado watch, that's above & beyond.

Oh Claude Labbe I'm way crazier than that. It was an actual warning, not just a watch.  But today my seller's counter was accepted and we'll be closing before Christmas.  So well worth it.

  • Tammy Lankford funny.... though I'm thinking that's not the usual recommended protocol for meeting with clients.

LOL  No, it's not my normal either, but Mrs. Seller was about to leave town, they were not at home to electronically sign and purchasers were here out of state for a job transfer relocation and gave us a VERY short deadline to respond before they had a plane to catch.  Circumstances just dictated.
