There are lots of occupations that the government says require a license to practice for the general population. If you want to....give your child, sister, neighbor a haircut..there are licensed beauticians and barbers...and in the scheme of scheme of things....a "bad hair day" cut or color does not have long term disasterous consequences.
Probably not much harm done if you paint your gal pal's nails and file them done rather than going to a licensed nail technician.
When there is more money, more cause to examine the health and welfare issues that surround the licensed task....people need to take a second look at the"do it yourself method" before proceeding.
A Pro Se divorce...while sounding like it saves thousands of dollars in legal expense...can result in spending more money on legal fees and unresolved issues when they are dealt with post divorce than had they been resolved before the gavel hit the final time declaring the marriage irretrievably broken and the couple legally divorced.
- The house that was ordered to refinanced or sold
to remove a spouse from the mortgage has no equity ?
- Who will pay for possible extensive repairs required to enable the house to
financed by the new buyer ?
- Are there adjustments made in compensation for improvements made by
one now former spouse..how is the value of those improvements calculated ?
- How are other expenses recovered or claimed...property taxes, insurance..
and the list goes on....
The stress of divorce and the emotional roller coaster that can be part of the process sometimes ignores these situations and others that are unknown and not considered at the time...it is about..."getting it over with quickly and inexpensively" without realizing possible future expenses for these and other situations not yet experienced by a couple who is no longer a couple.
