Honeymoon Island State Park located at the end of Dunedin Causeway is one of my favorite places! As a resident of Dunedin Florida, there are many options to enjoy outdoors.This beautiful State Park has some of the best beaches in the state and plenty of walking trails to enjoy our Florida wildlife. 
There are great beaches for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and shelling. I enjoy walking the long stretch of the north beach while my husband tags along with his fishing gear casting for snook. At the far south end of the island, there is a dog beach to bring your furry friends and enjoy. Honeymoon Island State Park has a picnic area and miles of hiking trails to explore, seeing wildlife such as gopher tortoises, bald eagles, great horned owls, ospreys, and more. This is a bird watchers paradise!
Honeymoon Island State Park features a nature center with displays, snack bar/restaurant, and beach chair, umbrella, and kayak rentals. There is also a ferry to Caladesi Island to enjoy more beautiful beaches.
You can join Friends of the Island Parks for $35 per year which entitles you to 12 free Honeymoon Island State Park entances as well as 12 monthly meetings and events planned by the Friends. You can even be a volunteer on the island if so inclined. There are special events such as Earth Days which require a number of park volunteers to make the event a success. So why not volunteer, make some new friends, while enjoying Honeymoon Island State Park.
The friendly rangers at Honeymoon Island State Park are happy to answer any questions you have and also conduct nature tours in the park.
Right on Honeymoon Island sits a 55+ condo community, Royal Stewart Arms. This waterfront community features a fishing pier, swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, and a clubhouse.
