It's another Beautiful Day in Cape coral, Florida. We do have one little issue, though, that needs some attention......POTHOLES! During all of the frantic construction activity earlier this decade, many of our streets were badly damaged by the big trucks hauling dirt in to "build-up" home sites, especially in the areas North of Pine Island Road, where the streets were not very well based to start with. Forty or fifty loads to a site meant a lot of trips and a lot of potholes. Now the city is working hard to catch up on the repairs.
If you know of a pot-holed street that needs some attention, let's tell the city about it! I have found them to be very responsive to reasonable requests, so let's talk to them! I decided to List My Home in January and I'm glad to say that the city has fixed up several issues nearby.
What has been your experience? Have you made any requests that were ignored? have you made any requests that got prompt action? The most irritating potholes to me are on Diplomat Parkway. I suspect that there is a plan to resurface the Parkway soon, because repairs have been somewhat less than perfect. Dodging potholes on Diplomat has become a daily sport for commuters. There were some real doozies over by Andalusia last summer, but they have been at least partially fixed.
One of my real estate listings is up on NW 17th Terrace between 3rd and 5th Avenues. I was pleased to see that that entire ten block area up there has been re-paved....and a beautiful job they did! Looks great, city! Since this ties to Diplomat, maybe there is a plan for the Parkway?
Tomorrow I'll have a short piece on Code Enforcement. Get your comments ready!
