I love Thanksgiving. Today we have enjoyed a close family time, a tough to watch football game (I'm a Bears fan), and fabulous food. We are blessed in so many ways, it is great to take some time and give thanks. It doesn't get much better than this...except for one little thing.
It's become a tradition--who started it I don't know--to put up our artificial Christmas tree on Thanksgiving. My daughter calls it a monstrosity. Tammie calls it a necessity. I just call it a bear (or another "b word!).
It's a big tree. It's a little over twelve foot tall in the stand and takes two ladders and a whole lot of muscle to get it up. We've had this beauty for about seven years and by now there are more needles in the container bags than there are on the branches. My son says it's starting to look a little like a giant "Charlie Brown Tree".
We got it mostly up (except for the top), as you can see from the picture, but unfortunately the tryptophan from the turkey is starting to kick in big time. We won't be finishing the tree tonight! More on our tree adventures later, but for now let's just say,
Happy Thanksgiving!
