Week 8, Days 1 & 2

Its the little light that can. The picture to the right is a close up of the LED can lights we installed into the kitchen ceiling. There are about 8 or 10 of these things and they are pretty neat.

They put out tons of light, virtually no heat, and should last for 40 years, all is a 2 inch diameter sized light. I was a bit concerned that lights this small would not be enough, but they were installed on Monday, and when we turned them on it was great!

The other cool thing is that they only use 1/6th of the power of standard lights. They should pay for themselves quickly.

They are very unobtrusive as well. When they are off they just blend into the ceiling. Yep, I am a fan.

The wood for the staircase was delivered as well. The landing on the staircase will be covered by oak just as the downstairs floors are. The railings will all be cleaned and sealed, and wrought iron balusters will be added. This is to be completed next Wednesday.

Once this is done the carpet guys will move in and replace the carpet in three rooms downstairs. After that, a small amount of touch up paint and a cleaning crew will finish off this home improvement project. I absolutely can't wait for this all to be done!

Good morning Peter and good luck. My latest project was stopped because of illness and then weather. Looks like your end is near though.

Looking good, Peter, and I agree with you on the bulbs. They may cost a bit more, but worth every penny in savings.
