Whether you are selling your home now or plan to list your home for sale sometime next year, think about the future as you decorate for the present (pun intended).
For example: As you remove that collection of porcelain statues from the bookcase shelf, carefully wrapping them to "temporarily" store for 6 weeks, to place a poinsettia there instead or a Christmas Village, consider storing the precious collectibles in a plastic bin, wrapped for long term storage instead.
Then after the holidays, don't bring the collectibles back out. NO BUYER will love the same things you love and they want to see the space open and ready to receive their own "loves."
So after the event or Holiday, instead of replacing and overfilling your space once again, look around the room. After the decorations are again stored and waiting for the next year, see what is currently decorating the room/space. If an area is overfilled or corner of the room is HEAVY with items that you can live without for at least NOW. store those pieces as well.
Then step three is to decide what must stay, & rearrange the decor you simply can't live without.
If you had 50 books stored around the statues, collectible minitures cars (or whatever you collect) before, break them up and place five or 10 on one of the empty shelves, not filling the shelf with books. About a third to a half at most, of the shelf space is all you want to fill with sold heavy lined (straight lined) items, then soften that heavy decor with a trio of candles or a trio of miniature plants. (When decorating, Think in threes).
Leave some AIR SPACE, this allows the room to breathe.
So make your holiday efforts even more worthwhile, with your plan t sell ever in mind.
Happy Holidays All!
Yes to this see thru bin. This one you can see thru so when you go to add or retrieve items you SEE where to find them quickly.
Not the best tyoe of bin for temporary, or even extended "temporary" storage). But if you wanted to hide something (for various and sundry reasons...LOL) this is a good bin to get.
