The Greater Good Network-- Gift Giving that Gives Food to Shelters

Every morning, I answer an e-mail reminder to "click to give" a bowl of food free to an animal shelter, on The Animal Rescue Site.

Click Here To Go Make Your Click To Fund Food, FREE!

One of the coolest things about this is that there is an online shopping "center" called The Greater Good Network where you can purchase items handmade from all over the world or USA made and with each (very reasonably priced) purchase, they donate free bowls of food to shelters!

This Christmas, do your shopping online for some amazing one-of-a-kind gifts for your animal-loving friends.

I bought these paw print boots for my hair stylist and she loves them! (I bought myself a pair, too)

With each purchase it tells you how many bowls of food you are funding. Plus, this is what they are ALSO doing when you purchase these:

Buy a Pair, Give a Pair! For every pair sold, we will donate another pair of shoes through Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization giving shoes to those in need both in the U.S. and abroad!

Not only are you giving back by feeding animals who are housed in shelters, but you are also possibly supporting artisans who work for very little to support their families in poor countries.

Today is "Giving Tuesday" and these are two suggestions for how to support this wonderful network:

Giving Tuesday Food Drive for Animals

The Greater Good Network represents other groups, too. The RainForest, Breast Cancer, Hunger, Autism, Veterans and more.

It's a very easy site to navigate through and there is truly something for everyone this holiday season!

And thank you, Belinda Spillman and Roger Mucci for this wonderful contest!

I just saw this statistic about this group of organizations (how's that for paying it forward?):

GreaterGood has given more than $30 million to non-profit charities around the world since 1999

Gayle,  Thanks for sharing this.  What a wonderful cause.  I love the boots but I think I'd faint here in south Florida.  Going to check out what else they have.  Tried to reblog but do not see the button.

Hi Gayle, Thanks for the tip and this is a great way to give to both animal shelters and people in need. Gosh we have so many women and child plus vets in need plus way too many pets who need a home. I hope these folks sell a lot of merchandise this Christmas season.

The painter in my post which got eaten by the Google Documents monster was excuse the expression dipping more than his paint brush that early afternoon. If my clients alone where there I would not have been as embarrassed but the wife and their special needs 10 year old daughter were with me. Lucky for me they did not see or understand what was going on as the painter and friend got out of the home very quickly. My mind went numb at first after I found both them and moved into the den away from the kitchen.

Gayle,

You introduced us to this a while back, and we sponsor a cat or two  for food and medical for a year.  For some reason, sponsored cats get adopted faster, so the rest of the $ goes to another cat.  A

Bob, they ARE pretty fancy, but hey,out here when you're showing vacant lots in the rain, ya wanna at least look cute while slogging through wet/mud!

Pat & Wayne Harriman , I always appreciate a fellow animal lover! I love "Grumpy Cat"...I have LOUD speaking, throwing-up-daily cat! He's probably 19 now and also a rescue!

Elyse Berman, PA, ABR, GRI, Realtor , first off, I am SOOOOO happy for you that Gracie is comin' home with the thumbs up from the vet. I always forget to check that darned "re-blog" button (I seem to think that it's automatic), so thanks for the nudge...you can re-blog now and thank you!

Michael Jacobs , thank you SO much FOR stepping up and judging this contest--it's going to be very rewarding.

Robert (Bob) Gilbert , I think at this time of the year especially, you have to pick and choose what really speaks to you as far as a charity to give to. They all pull at you, and understandably this is the season...as to the painter, may his "brush" always remember the brush with disaster he almost had!

Ron & Alexandra Seigel , I remember that when I told you about this site you took it to heart--thank you! And I didn't know this cool piece of info aobut sponsoring and therefore creating a quicker adoption....it must be that positive energy....
