Believe me, I can relate to Michael Jacobs post about weather.   I am happy to see that California is finally getting some much needed rain.   Mostly I relate to the statement about the weather people having a cushy job.

In Colorado, I never look past 24 hours for a forecast.   We can have sunshine and warm days predicted for the next three days only to wake to a foot of snow on the ground.

With any any weather conditions it is very important to adjust your driving.  Whether it is wet slippery roads or two inches of snow, we need to adapt to the conditions.

In the meantime, here's hoping for some continued showers (not storms) in California.

Los Angeles CA Storm Watch

Storm Watch - Los Angeles - December 2, 2014

As my fellow Southern Californians are aware, weather forecasters in our area seem to have a pretty cushy life.

Sunny and nice that day.   Sunny and nice the next.

Maybe a heat wave here and there.

Some wind advisories in the desert.

But if there is just a bit of precipitation...all of a sudden it becomes

Storm Watch 2014

Whether it’s online, on television and radio or in the lunchroom at the office

People have hit the streets in brightly

covered rainwear and boots.

Umbrella vendors dust off their stored merchandise.

Forget fashion, this is about function!

Puddles create new obstacles.  Watch where you step.

So we’re getting a little rain today.

We knew it was coming.   We’ve been warned.

But remember. While I can be more than a bit of smart aleck and this post is written with my tongue in my cheek...

Stay safe!

Drive a bit slower - come on, you know you can do it!

Understand there are likely to be some delays.

Above all, be careful.

After All

It’s Storm Watch

Erin, I can relate to your weather - I moved from the northeast where the meteorologists may as well have said "Our educated guess for the next 3 hours is....".  Since moving to CA, I've nearly forgotten about rain - nice to see some falling for the first time in a long time.

John Meussner our weather people use the Rocky Mountains for an excuse.  It still gets frustrating.  A girl never knows how to dress for the weather here!

Hey Erin-I have to laugh about the rain in LA, all my west coaster friends are calling to talk about it. I am like "hello I live in Miami!" We have daily  monsoon rainstorms almost each summer afternoon! I know what rain is-LOL

Erin-I lived in upstate NY for most all my life and even as much as people were used to iclement weather when the first snow of the year came and stuck to the roads is when most fender bender accidents happened, Here in the south they don't know how to drive in it

Thanks for the re-blog, Erin --- I guess Jimmy Kimmel had some fun highlighting the Los Angeles area television news and weather forecasters reports ---- five minutes --- of "we need the rain" over and over and over again.
