Where is my padlock?

There are 2 love lock bridges in Paris

 

On September 22, 2014 - One of the bridges was closed because the padlocks were so heavy that it broke the side railings of the bridge. The city will soon be replacing the side walls with glass panels.

 

My padlock was left behind on this Parisian bridge or was it???...

 

Is it hidden or is it in plain view?

 

One thing is for sure, the key was thrown overboard...

 

Oh Paris... how much I love thee!!

 

Love lock bridge will soon be a just a memory found only in photos.

I've seen this in Berlin, Germany as well.  This summer, the padlocks had been removed but a few new ones were already in place.

I also saw them in Venice but not to the extent I saw in Paris. For a moment, I felt like a teen ager immersed in love...

Probably so. There are vendors on both sides of the bridge selling identical padlocks. Makes me believe they all have the same key. Oh well...my special key is at the bottom of Seine river or is it??

You know you put your lock there. The intention remains in your heart even if/when the lock is removed.

So cool to turn a railing into an art piece and tourist attraction, such a shame that some city officials miss that point when they choose to replace the railings with glass panels instead of putting in some extra bracing.

I feel the same way. Unfortunately, the major consensus from locals are that we are defacing their historical bridges and blocking the majestic views. I am torn between the two point of views.
