Showing our Home for the Holidays - My Snowman Tree

Debbie Laity challenged us this month to show and tell about a favorite holiday display or decorating job in her "Show Us Your Home for the Holidays" contest post and I thought I would share my love for snowmen.

My Snowman TreeOn a whim this year I went out and bought this white tree and snowman topper and have slowly started decorating Frosty (how original) as I begin pulling all of my snowmen out of their year-long hibernation.

If you look closely, you will also see many Christmas Crackers on the tree. That is a tradition I brought with me from England.

Right before we eat dinner on Christmas Day we will pull the crackers apart, revealing our "prizes". In addition to the prize, each cracker contains a colorful paper crown that we each will wear as we eat, share, and enjoy each others company. Silly family fun!

Frosty is resting comfortably in a corner of my dining room, waiting patiently for snow to arrive (ya right) or a yummy Christmas Dinner, whichever shows up first. I am betting on the food!

This is my entry in Debbie's contest.

I white tree that I absolutely love. You'll have to take a closer photo of those Christmas crackers and write a post. That's sounds very interesting to me.

Tammie: I might even pop one (they make a popping noise when pulled apart) and show the contents too.

Julie: I created him on a whim and am glad I did.

Anita- you can't help but smile when you see your snowman tree!  We've been buying Christmas Crackers for our table setting because it's just so much fun to see everyone in the paper hats.

Anita! I love your snowman tree. What a clever idea! I had to look closely to see the crackers. Opening them must be so much fun. I'm going to post the photo of your tree on Pinterest!

Anita... as a Christmas tree lover, who puts up themed trees herself, this snowman is too cute for words. Great job!
