You need to have a plan and a strategy if you are going to buy a Carlsbad home in 2015. Here’s the next step in your 2015 home buying game plan:
COMMIT TO THE HOME BUYING PROCESS
Now that you know what you can afford and are pre-approved, had a good idea of what you are looking for, have hired a personal coach, your Buyer’s Agent, to help you in the home search and purchase process, and have begin educating yourself about local housing market conditions it’s time to talk about commitment to the home buying process.
If you have already done these things, or have started, you’ve already made a commitment to purchasing a new Carlsbad home. But there’s more.
Buying a home is tough work. It takes a lot of time (e.g. searching for a home, touring homes), and a commitment to the total process from start to finish, which could be weeks or many months depending on your personal situation . You have to commit to your research and learning as much as you can about local market conditions, which will benefit you in the long run. You have to commit to completing paperwork and providing documentation and clarification in a timely manner to your loan officer when getting pre-approved as well as during the loan process.
You must commit to providing feedback to your agent about what you like and don’t as you tour Carlsbad homes so he or she can better assist you. And you must ask questions to learn as much as possible, and provide the information your agent needs.
Once you are in the transaction there is a process you must commit to …reviewing disclosures, doing your due diligence including inspections, adhering to all contract dates, completing paperwork required by title, escrow and your mortgage company…in order to get to the final step when you become a new homeowner.
It’s important to have the right attitude and commit to what you are undertaking. If you can’t, perhaps it’s just not the right time. And that’s OK. When the time is right and you CAN commit, you’ll know it.
