Bellingham is all its glory has a diverse amount of housing. For
example, just 100 yards up the hill on Alabama can mean the difference
between local druggies and a 100k view. Just behind Alabama hill is the
beautiful silver beach area. What a treat. Did you know many ramblers in
this area come on the market below the average price in bellingham of
303k. Pretty well below. Silver beach offers a subdued area that is only
5 more minutes into town than the lake way area. Some people have
noticed. Heading down britton street towards the lake , new homes are
popping up with lake front views that will bedazzle you.
Shying away from lake front property to near lake front can keep you out of the
Alabama neighborhoods and into the safe haven of community oriented
holiday parties that abound in this area. Drive further along the silver
beach area and you will find yourself in the eagle ridge development. A
small community of nicer homes that offer a little bit more luxury than
the proceeding neighborhoods. If your more adventurous, then keep going
and you will find higher priced homes on the right that curtail the lake
and steals of deals in the hidden lots adjacent the street. These
neighborhoods are up and coming. A good idea would be to buy a fixer
upper and rent it out. These neighborhoods don’t offer the amenities
of even streets, but the location can be supreme as well as the price
tag. Sometimes foreclosures on older homes pop up and with some sweat
equity you could turn an older rambler into a dream home.
So how do i find out about these properties?
Pretty easy. You can contact your local realtor and ask for a once a
month update. These clients of mine are only willing to move under
certain conditions. We set up our expectations and review what they are
looking for. As a realtor constantly perusing the mls I can quickly
locate the deals around town. When they arrive , i simply contact my
client.
What if i don’t want to do that?
Go for a walk around where you want to invest. Get to know the people.
Neighbors tend to know a lot about each other. They may really want a
new neighbor. So just go for a walk on a sunny day and see who you meet.
Could be your new next door neighbor.
Sincerely,
Derek Worchel
