Las Cruces Makes Forbes Top 25 Cities to Retire in 2014
The largest city in southern New Mexico has been named one of the top 25 U.S. cities in which to retire. Siting the fact that Las Cruces is a college town, home to New Mexico State University, has a good economy, cost of living 8% below the national average, median home price of around $176,000, a good state tax environment and our warm and dry climate.
This comes as no surprise to those of us who already call Las Cruces home, certainly no surprise to me. I have shown about 40 houses in past two weeks to a few of these retirees who are wanting to start their new life under about 350 days of sunshine per year - that's a lot of outdoor activities!
