What Qualifies Real Estate as 'luxury' in the Space Coast area?

Top considerations when identifying a home as luxury on the Space Coast of Florida!

It has been my experience that every area of the country is different when it comes to the luxury real estate market.

In some areas, buyers may spend a million dollars, and end up with a property that still would not fit that description!  Other areas may have few homes priced over $500,000, and these constitute what most people would call the "luxury" market.

When previewing real estate on the Space Coast of Florida, I look beyond price and square footage for other factors that define a luxury property.  Here are a few of my top considerations:

Location and Neighborhood:  These attributes are always important, but especially in the luxury market.  In any area, I immediately want to learn which characteristics of the environment render a property highly sought after.  For example, in Brevard County, homes located on the Indian or Banana Rivers are sometimes considered more desirable than oceanfront estates.

Finish and Decor:  Luxury homes typically feature hand-crafted finishes which can include custom wall treatments, cabinets, moldings and other details not found in the average home.

Luxury Furnishings:  I find that many high-end buyers are impressed by custom details that are made to fit perfectly into the ambience of a particular space, or geographic location.  Such features are quite expensive to add, and are almost always included in the selling price, at no extra cost to the buyer.

Upscale Amenities:  These are only limited by the owner's imagination, and can include fancy appliances, speaker systems, customized window treatments and even things like temperature controlled wine storage and cigar bars!  The list is unending, affording buyers an opportunity to benefit from improvements that would be extremely costly to add later.

While the above factors are generally understood to define this market, I find that "luxury" tends to mean something different to each individual.  Working with individual clients to help fulfill their particular tastes and interests is what we do best.  Space Coast Real Estate One can help you to navigate the luxury market according to your unique situation.

Have to agree with the upscale amenities.  Wine bars can be costly later if the perfect spot for them wasn't already laid out.

You are so right!

One could definitely spend over a million dollars here in Beverly Hills and even in Newport Beach or Laguna Beach and still not be considered luxury.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

Thoughtful post...luxury truly does mean different things in different regions, and it's not necessarily a price issue at all.   In my region, the "luxury properties" might be seen as very rustic.

Avery, your are right when you say luxury means different things in different areas, as well as meaning different things to different people. Customization usually has something to do with defining what makes up a luxury home.
