Week 10 and more work done

Yes, we are half way through week 10 of the home renovation and still going! As you can see in the picture at right, the stair treads and landing are taking shape.

We should have all treads in and the first step which is a piece all by itself, and we may have it all sanded and stained by this afternoon. Just a note, all this raises a ton of dust. Even though they hung plastic to keep it down, I am vacuuming the kitchen floor and wiping the counter tops everyday to keep the dust levels down.

Just look at the mess on our dining room floor. 0We are trying to keep doors closed but the fine dust goes everywhere!

The next three days will be where the finish is applied, with the last day seeing the kitchen and dining room floors receiving their last top coats as well.

Then on to the rails and balusters. That should happen next Wednesday and new carpet going in next Thursday. Somewhere in between all this a painter has to come in and paint the risers. Piece of cake, right?
