How to Break Through Common Mental Barriers to Success

You're no doubt familiar with the concept of "standing in your own way," but it can be difficult to come to the realization that you're sabotaging your own efforts. It's easier to blame anyone or anything else for your failures, from your parents to your supervisors to corporate culture or the growth of online dating for holding you back in your lifelong pursuits.

And yet, you need to admit that you have the lion's share of control over how your life progresses. To some degree, you rely on the input and approval of other people, and your circumstances can definitely help or hinder the process. But when you set your mind to something and pursue it, there's a good chance you can complete the necessary steps to reach your goals.

The only problem is that you might not know how to get out of your own way long enough to let good things happen. And you could probably use a little help to see where you're going wrong. Whether that means contacting a life coach, a therapist, or an Arizona Mortgage Coach to help you move ahead (or simply become more aware of the ways in which you're sabotaging yourself), there are ways to move past the mental blockages that are holding you back. Here are a few strategies to consider.

Fear
One of the biggest reasons people fail is because they are afraid to pull the trigger. Your fear of No Fearfailing may ultimately rob you of the successes you so richly deserve. This is especially true if you've tried and failed in the past. So how do you overcome fear? It's not usually as simple as admitting what you're afraid of, but that's a good first step.

You may need the help of specialists who can coach you through the process of becoming aware of your fearful tendencies so that you can view them rationally, create a plan of action, and proceed towards your goals. For example, a career counselor could help you take the steps necessary to advance your education and your career.

A coach from Barrier Breaker Coaching could move you in the right direction to achieve your goals. And a therapist could help you overcome hang-ups about dating and other relationships. Of course, you can't be afraid to ask for help.

LionInsecurity
Another problem you may face is a feeling that you're not good enough. Perhaps you've always felt that the people you date are smarter, more attractive, or more caring than you. Maybe you feel that even a Top AZ Mortgage Originator can't help you to get into your dream home. Or you think that the job you want is beyond your reach due to a lack of education, experience, or necessary skills.

But your belief that you're not good enough could be the only thing actually holding you back. And when you learn to identify your negative impulses and counteract them, you can begin to plan for a brighter future. You don't exactly have to adopt a Stuart Smalley mantra ("I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!"). But overcoming insecurities could involve reminding yourself that a lack of confidence is stopping you from achieving success.

Lack of Vision and Organization
Knowing how to reach your goals is a major contributor to success in most cases - it rarely falls in your lap. But some people are neither organized nor particularly adept at planning, and this is where you can benefit from the professional help of a therapist, a life coach, a personal trainer, or an Arizona Mortgage Coach, just for example.

These knowledgeable and experienced individuals can help you pinpoint problem areas to help you reach your goals, either by laying out a step-by-step plan or giving you the tools necessary to do it on your own.

Negative Influences
Sometimes you're not the only voice holding you back. In some cases, there are family members, friends, coworkers, or significant others offering you bad advice or telling you that you can't do the things you want to do. In order to be successful, however, you have to learn to tune out these voices or simply cut them out of your life.

This is no easy feat, especially where long-time personal relationships are concerned. But in the Barrier Breaker Coachinginterest of your own mental health and well-being, not to mention the prospect of future success, you need to choose yourself over those who will only bring you down. And surrounding yourself with people who elevate you and encourage you to get ahead, like the pros at Barrier Breaker Coaching, can only help to support and sustain your positive efforts.

Michael - thank you and I bet that seminar was a good one.  I have been helping people break through barriers for a ling time.

Bob- you're welcome.  Barriers come in many shapes and sizes, depths and shallows.  It is the individual that has to decide to want to break that barrier.  Could be cold calling, could be time management, could be face to face meetings, could be public speaking (this is a big one).  What ever it is, there are ways to break them.
