Are You a Professional REALTOR® ?
I went to a continuing education class yesterday on Commissioner's Standards from a marketing point of view.
I wanted to share some of the "this and that" stats that I really found of interest:
If Realtors® wonder why the public may not treat them as professionals, think on this:
A hairdresser/cosmetologist needs 1600 hours of education to become licensed.
A real estate agent needs 90 to help with perhaps the largest single investment the average American will make.
When you are out showing buyers listings without a signed AAR buyer-broker agreement, and you show listings by other agents in your firm/brokerage...you are violating the Arizona Department of Real Estate's ruling that says you cannot act as a dual agent without PRIOR WRITTEN consent. And...showing and locating properties for a prospective client, recommending resources, answering transaction questions...that IS acting as an agent.
Did you know that according to the National Association of Realtors® , less than 27% of REALTORS do not have an effective data base?
As you probably know, 90% of buyers go online to look for homes for sale...BUT, after that, 74% of buyers go drive by the homes. Imagine if you were there doing an open house...
And one last thought...again according to the National Association of REALTORS®,75% of agents never respond to email queries. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT???
So my questions for the day to all the REALTORS® out there:
Are you a professional?
Do you work and groom your database?
Do you answer your emails?
